Beware! NSE Cautions Investors Against Instagram and Telegram Channels Offering Investment Tips and Trading Services

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has issued a warning to investors against certain Instagram and Telegram channels that claim to offer investment-related tips and trading services. In a recent release, the NSE cautioned the public about an Instagram handle named ‘bse_nse_latest’ and a Telegram channel ‘BHARAT TRADING YATRA’, which are purportedly providing securities market tips and offering to manage trading accounts for investors.

The exchange stressed that investors should not subscribe to any schemes or products offered by entities promising indicative, assured, or guaranteed returns in the stock market, as such practices are prohibited by law. NSE further advised investors to refrain from sharing their trading credentials, such as user IDs and passwords, with anyone.

Additionally, the NSE highlighted the activities of individuals named Vedika Sharma and Rohit Kashyap, associated with an entity called “Dr. Stock Market Company”. Operating through mobile numbers 7456070218, 8445035218, and 7037060119, these individuals are reportedly providing dabba, or illegal trading services. Investors are strongly advised against engaging with any such schemes or products in the stock market, as these practices are also prohibited by law. The NSE noted that these individuals and their entity are not registered as members or authorised persons of any registered member of the National Stock Exchange of India Limited. A police complaint has been lodged in this regard.

Furthermore, the NSE warned about a Telegram channel named ‘VR Technicals’, operating through mobile number 8955011483. This channel is allegedly offering securities market tips, assured returns on stock market investments, and managing trading accounts for investors by requesting their login IDs and passwords.

To help investors verify the legitimacy of stock brokers, the NSE provided a facility called ‘Know/Locate your Stock Broker’, accessible via the link – https://www.nseindia.com/invest/find-a-stock-broker. Investors can use this service to check the details of registered members and authorised persons on the NSE website.

Investors are urged to exercise caution and due diligence when dealing with investment-related services and to report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities. Stay informed and protect your investments from potential scams and fraudulent practices in the stock market.
